We do a lot of things online: video games, web sites, web hosting, tech support, cupcake baking, technically supporting cupcake bakers via online web video games... lots of stuff. (I'll explain more later.)

The spammers "won" I guess

I guess the spamming jerks have "won" a battle with me. I'm sick of dealing with deleting posts and users for all the jerks who come in here and post crap to promote crap. I've disabled the simple user account creation system to help slow down their junk-flow. I'll find a more elegant solution at some point, but for now, it's easier to just shut down the gate.

So, thanks a lot, spam asshats! You've griefed me into making my site less useful. Yay!

I'll find a better way to handle user accounts for "real" people (not the real, live people who are hired to troll around creating spam,) who want to participate here. For now, just drop me a line with the contact form and I'll hook you up if you're not a spammer.

New Network-wide Login System Activated

Something that had been holding me back a bit from rolling in the rest of my sites into this new NearlyEverything.com "Network" of sites was the slick feature of a single sign-on for all the sites. Well, that's been remedied!

You can now join one site and get access to them all! Essentially, this enables a "Master Login Site" that will handle all the authentication, so you might see "login.nearlyeverything.com" at some point. That's us, so don't fret. That one account will get you access to all the sites we currently have, along with a few new ones that need to be rolled in.

For now, the network includes www.NearlyEverything.com and www.ThisWorked.com, but soon, there will also be www.DevLust.com (for those who really, really like developing things!) and my other sites like www.PointlessRant.com and a few others.

So hopefully this works for everyone, but please drop me a note if you have trouble! Thanks for visiting and please come back... with friends!

Regards,
Paul Hoza

Massive Updates and the New NearlyEverything Site Network!

Huge, huge changes are flowing freely through our web server. Massive-huge.

I'm overdue for posting a note to let visitors know what's going on as they're seeing weird changes and content moving around. Just suffice to say there will be a bunch of our sites that are now falling under fewer umbrellas than before. Where sites used to live out on their own, they are now being brought into the fold of core sites and forming "networks" of sites... wheee!! Big stuff, trust me -- even if you can't see what's going on out here on the surface.

The first of the sites, www.ThisWorked.com, is now integrated and the content has been copied over (along with the comments, I hope -- let me know if I missed something). I've tried to get all the users moved over, but there were a lot of spammer accounts throughout our sites, so it's been hard to distinguish the real people from the bots at times. If you tried logging in and you had trouble, please send me a note and I'll look into it. It's possible either your account was not moved or maybe the passwords weren't copied properly for safety reasons -- often they need to be recreated/restored during moves like this, unfortunately. If all else fails, I can just re-create your account.

Before all is finished with this particular move, the following sites will all be rolled into the NearlyEverything.com blanket:

A user account at any one of these sites will ultimately grant you access to all the sites in the network, but that might not be working immediately. I'm working on a system where you can sign in once and jump between sites, but that's been problematic so I'll have to research it more.

Welcome to the new NEcom site!

Wheee! Loooooooooooooong overdue for an overhaul around here. "Stagnant" doesn't even scratch the surface of the lack of activity on this site. The background activity has been massive -- client test sites; file transfers; web hosting services; etc. -- but the front end of this operation has been dormant, to say the least.

Anyway, this is just a quick page I'm throwin' down to get things rolling. Thanks for visiting! I'm not sure exactly what brought you here, but we'll find out more about each other soon.

(If you're looking for either tabletop & garden water fountains, or some fine jewelry from our older days, sorry but we no longer sell those items. We might start that back up again, but for now, we need to focus elsewhere. I'll explain more later.)

Thanks for dropping by!

Cheers,
Paul
